Dating
back to 1891, 87 Arkansas firefighters have made the supreme sacrifice --
losing their lives in the line of duty. The Arkansas Fallen Firefighters
Memorial will eventually honor those heroes with a lasting landmark on the
grounds of the Arkansas State Capitol. Architect Brooks Jackson of Little Rock was selected to design the memorial (illustrated at left). A space on the west side of the capitol building has been proposed for the memorial. Currently, Arkansas Fallen Firefighters' Memorial, Inc. is using a variety of fund-raising plans to collect the funding necessary to construct this important monument. Now, it's time to include in those plans the opportunity for citizens to donate to the memorial and show their support for those that gave all.
